Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Credit Officer to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi, specializing in the energy sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in credit analysis, risk assessment, and financial evaluation, with a focus on energy projects. The Credit Officer will be responsible for assessing creditworthiness, managing relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with internal and external credit policies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Credit Analysis:
- Conduct thorough financial analysis and credit assessments of potential clients within the energy sector, including power generation, renewable energy, and oil & gas projects.
- Evaluate financial statements, cash flow projections, and other financial data to determine credit risk and make informed recommendations.

2. Risk Assessment:
- Identify and assess risks associated with credit proposals and financing structures, including market, operational, and regulatory risks.
- Monitor industry trends and changes in the energy market that may impact credit risk and make recommendations for adjustments to credit policies.

3. Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring clear communication regarding credit policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the sales and business development teams to understand client needs and provide credit insights that support business objectives.

4. Reporting and Compliance:
- Prepare detailed credit reports and presentations for senior management and credit committees, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

5. Portfolio Management:
- Monitor the performance of existing credit facilities and maintain accurate records of account status and financial performance.
- Conduct periodic reviews of client creditworthiness and recommend actions for account management or risk mitigation.

6. Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in credit assessment and approval workflows, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay abreast of industry developments and regulatory changes that may affect credit policies and practices.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional designation (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience in credit analysis, risk management, or related fields, preferably within the energy sector.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across teams.
- Proficient in financial modeling and credit assessment tools.
- Knowledge of the energy industry, including trends, regulations, and key players is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and credit analysis software.
