Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to join our team in Dubai. The CRO will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive risk management framework that aligns with our business objectives in the consumer goods sector. This pivotal role requires a forward-thinking leader who can identify potential risks, foster a culture of risk awareness, and work collaboratively across all levels of the organization to ensure that risk management practices are integrated into every facet of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Risk Management Strategy: Develop and execute a robust risk management strategy that identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks associated with the consumer goods industry, including market, operational, financial, and regulatory risks.

- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to evaluate the effectiveness of existing risk management practices and develop action plans for improvement.

- Policy Development: Create, implement, and maintain risk management policies and procedures that comply with local and international regulations and industry best practices.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with executive management, departmental heads, and key stakeholders to cultivate a strong risk management culture and ensure that risk considerations are integrated into strategic planning and decision-making processes.

- Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive risk reports to the Board of Directors and senior management, providing insights into potential risks, mitigation strategies, and overall risk exposure.

- Crisis Management: Develop and implement crisis management and business continuity plans to ensure the organization is prepared for unexpected events or emergencies.

- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on the latest regulations and industry trends affecting the consumer goods sector and ensure that the organization remains compliant with all relevant laws and guidelines.

- Training and Development: Lead training sessions and workshops to educate employees on risk management principles, fostering an organizational culture that prioritizes risk awareness.

- Team Leadership: Build and manage a high-performing risk management team, providing coaching and mentorship to develop their skills and capabilities.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CRISC, FRM, or similar) is preferred.

- A minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, compliance, or a related field within the consumer goods industry.

- Proven experience in developing and implementing risk management frameworks and strategies.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically and act tactically.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices related to risk management in the consumer goods sector.

- Proficiency in risk management software and tools is a plus.
