Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) to lead our sustainability initiatives within the healthcare sector in Dubai. The CSO will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sustainability programs that align with our organizational goals, enhance our environmental performance, and promote social responsibility. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of sustainability practices, healthcare regulations, and the ability to engage and inspire stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sustainability Strategy Development:
- Formulate and execute a comprehensive sustainability strategy aligned with the organization's mission, values, and goals.
- Identify key sustainability metrics and benchmarks to measure progress and impact.

2. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international environmental regulations and healthcare standards.
- Stay informed about sustainability trends and legislation in the healthcare sector, and proactively adapt strategies as needed.

3. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including department heads, healthcare professionals, and community organizations, to promote sustainability initiatives.
- Foster a culture of sustainability within the organization through training, workshops, and awareness campaigns.

4. Sustainable Operations:
- Lead efforts to reduce the organization's carbon footprint through sustainable practices in energy, water, waste management, and procurement.
- Identify opportunities for innovation in sustainable healthcare practices, including green building initiatives and sustainable supply chain management.

5. Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare and present regular reports on sustainability performance to senior leadership and the board of directors.
- Communicate sustainability initiatives and achievements to employees, patients, and the community through various channels.

6. Research and Development:
- Stay abreast of the latest research, technologies, and best practices in sustainability and healthcare.
- Collaborate with research institutions and industry experts to develop innovative sustainability solutions.

7. Budget Management:
- Oversee the sustainability budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to achieve sustainability goals.
- Seek funding opportunities and partnerships to support sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Healthcare Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability management, preferably in the healthcare sector.
- Strong knowledge of sustainability principles, practices, and metrics within healthcare.
- Proven track record of leading sustainability initiatives and driving organizational change.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
- Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP, etc.) is an advantage.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
